Liverpool will not be able to secure \u00a335million for Harvey Elliott in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n
That is according to ex-Aston Villa, Everton, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider, who believes Liverpool<\/a> should look to reach an agreement with Aston Villa<\/a> for Elliott.<\/p>\n Aston Villa could agree a cut-price deal for Elliott<\/a> around \u00a320m, despite an obligation to buy the 22-year-old for \u00a335m if he appears ten times for the club this season.<\/p>\n Elliott\u2019s loan spell at Aston Villa was not terminated in January<\/a> despite a lack of game time this season, with the Liverpool loanee having made just nine appearances for Unai Emery\u2019s side so far.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2018This is the sort of negotiation that will happen for Harvey Elliott\u2019<\/p>\n Everton\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 states that Aston Villa are \u201cvery tight on budget\u201d going into negotiations.<\/p>\n Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness hopes the situation can be \u201cresolved.\u201c<\/p>\n He told\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cThey\u2019re very tight on budget, so it\u2019s going to have to be something like \u00a315m or \u00a320m they might be able to accept, and you know they\u2019ll be allowed to play him more than the 10 games this season, so I think he\u2019s at seven or eight, but anyway that\u2019s the sort of negotiation I think that will happen, and I think it could work out for both teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES<\/p>\n \u201cI\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think that\u00a0he\u2019d\u00a0be at \u00a335m anyway if he came back to Liverpool or was free in the summer. I don\u2019t think Liverpool are going to get\u00a0the \u00a335m for him.\u00a0So\u00a0I think\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0better off seeing if they can get something done with Villa right now. <\/p>\n \u201cSo\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0the\u00a0dynamics\u00a0at play, and\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0hope it can get resolved. I think for both groups and for the player himself,\u00a0I think that makes\u00a0sense.
