Nigerian music star, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has dismissed long-standing public perceptions about his personal life, saying he is not a womaniser but simply someone who loves deeply.\n<\/p>\n
The award-winning singer made the clarification during an interview with Voice of Nigeria which was shared on Wednesday, where he reflected on fame, family, and the pressures of public scrutiny.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest misconception about me is that I\u2019m a womaniser. I like women; I\u2019m just straightforward. But I\u2019m a lover boy. I love hard,\u201d 2Baba said.\n<\/p>\n
Speaking on fatherhood, the artiste revealed that one of his greatest personal struggles has been balancing his music career with raising his children.<\/p>\n
He said although he feels grateful to have eight children, he sometimes regrets not spending as much time with them as he would have wished.\n<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cI have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven\u2019t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Despite that, he described his children as a constant sources of pride and joy<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n
The singer also addressed criticism directed at his wife, Natasha, particularly claims that she is controlling or overly influential in his decisions.\n<\/p>\n
According to him, such narratives are often far from reality. <\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody has a say in everybody\u2019s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cYou grow thick skin, but sometimes it gets to you. Reality is reality, she\u2019s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n
2Baba also revealed that he is naturally shy and more reserved than many assume, explaining that his profession often requires him to step outside his comfort zone.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cMy profession doesn\u2019t permit me to be shy, but I\u2019m actually a very shy person.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n
