The operator, Viridor, has applied for a permit allowing it to burn up to 380,000 tonnes annually, arguing it is a cleaner alternative to landfill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">At a recent community meeting, the EA said it was minded to approve the change, but later stressed no final decision had been made.
