Lisa McHugh was admitted to hospital with sepsis just days before her planned return to live music.<\/p>\n
The country music singer, who lives in Co Fermanagh<\/a>, shared the news on her social media on Thursday morning. She was due to make her return to live music at The Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny tonight with Nathan Carter after a period of ill health.<\/p>\n Last summer, she revealed she lost the use of her legs for two months, and was later diagnosed with functional neurological disorder (FND), a condition where there are problems with how the brain sends and receives signals<\/a>, leading to symptoms like functional seizures, limb weakness or paralysis, tremor and numbness.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Lisa McHugh says neurological disorder battle was a ‘wake-up call’ to look after her body<\/a>READ MORE: ‘She didn’t have an easy start to life’: Lisa McHugh on daughter’s traumatic early illness<\/a><\/p>\n Posting on social media, Lisa said: “Hi everyone, I\u2019m so sorry to say that I won\u2019t be able to perform tonight with @iamnathancarter at the @clanree_hotel, Letterkenny.<\/p>\n “I was admitted into hospital a couple of days ago with sepsis, but I want to reassure everyone, that, I\u2019m in the right place and receiving the best care and treatment to help get things under control. I just need to take a little bit of time to rest and recover, but I will be absolutely fine<\/p>\n “I\u2019m so disappointed to miss out on what was meant to be my first live show back, but, I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll all have a fantastic night with Nathan as always! I can\u2019t wait to see you all very soon.<\/p>\n “Thank you for all your continued support and understanding \u2014 it truly means the world.
