{"id":422274,"date":"2026-02-12T19:24:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T19:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/422274\/"},"modified":"2026-02-12T19:24:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T19:24:08","slug":"hospital-staff-in-leeds-stage-third-walkout-in-pay-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/422274\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital staff in Leeds stage third walkout in pay dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Staff previously walked out for five days last month and for 48 hours in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Unison said the trust&#8217;s refusal to pay staff fairly was out of line with other hospital trusts across the region, and around the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It said since 2021, more than 100 NHS trusts and health boards in England and Wales have agreed deals on regrading and back pay worth \u00a3250m for more than 65,000 healthcare support workers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Imogen Woods, Unison&#8217;s Yorkshire and Humberside area organiser, said staff should be &#8220;paid fairly&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She added: &#8220;Managers can easily prevent this latest strike from happening by getting back round the table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Workers don&#8217;t want to be out in the cold \u2013 they want to be doing the jobs they care about, making sure some of the most vulnerable people in Leeds receive the quality care they deserve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Harrison added: &#8220;We remain committed to ensuring all colleagues feel valued and able to raise their concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Staff previously walked out for five days last month and for 48 hours in December.
