You might be hearing a lot about Sentimental Value in the coming weeks as it’s been nominated for eight BAFTAs<\/a> and nine Oscars<\/a>, with Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas among the favourites in their categories.<\/p>\n

Sentimental Value<\/a> has been added to streaming service Mubi<\/a> today, so if you’re a subscriber, you can watch the movie right now at no extra cost. If you’re not a subscriber, you can add Mubi to your Amazon Prime subscription<\/a> and enjoy a seven-day free trial.<\/p>\n

Mubi otherwise costs \u00a311.99 per month, so make sure to cancel your subscription before the end of the free trial if you don’t want to continue it.<\/p>\n

Directed by Joachim Trier (who also co-wrote the movie with Eskil Vogt), Sentimental Value stands at an impressive near-perfect 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> from 231 reviews, with FilmWeek<\/a> hailing it as the “best movie of the year” when it was released in November 2025.<\/p>\n

It follows sisters Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Lilleaas) who reunite with their estranged father Gustav (Skarsg\u00e5rd), who was once a renowned director, as he’s planning a major comeback with a script based on his family.<\/p>\n

Gustav offers Nora the lead role, but she declines, so he brings in a young Hollywood star (Elle Fanning) to make the movie, which ends up with the three of them forced to confront their difficult pasts.<\/p>\n

Sentimental Value is now available to watch on Mubi<\/a> in the UK.<\/p>\n
