A cyclist has died after he was struck by a van whilst he was stood at the side of a West Lothian road during the early hours of Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Main Street in East Whitburn at around 6.10am following an incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old man, who had been standing at the side of the road after coming off his bicycle, died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The driver of the vehicle, a white Vauxhall van, was uninjured. An investigation into the incident has been launched.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: \u201cOur thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in this crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am appealing to anyone who has information to come forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone saw the white Vauxhall van or a cyclist on or off a black pedal cycle in the area around the time of the collision, please contact us.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would also urge anyone who has dash-cam or personal footage to please review it and get in touch if there is anything that may be relevant to our investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 0681 of Saturday, February 14, 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
