Nominated for an Oscar,\u00a0A Friend of Dorothy\u00a0creator\u00a0Lee Knight\u00a0has revealed that\u00a0Miriam Margolyes<\/a>\u00a0will reprise her role in a feature-length version of the short film.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Disney<\/a> short, featuring Margolyes and\u00a0Stephen Fry<\/a>, is nominated for an Academy Award at the 98th Oscars in the \u2018Live Action Short Film\u2019 category.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just amazed to be on this journey with her\u201d \u2013 Lee Knight on being nominated for an Oscar with Miriam Margolyes<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so excited,\u201d he said. \u201cI was just at an Oscar nominees\u2019 luncheon with Miriam, and she flew in from Tuscany. She\u2019s so excited\u2026 I\u2019m just amazed to be on this journey with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Margolyes, known for being unapologetically herself, had her fair share of hilarious behind-the-scenes moments, Knight revealed \u2013 many of which did not make the cut.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was to stand here and tell you all the things that happened on set that didn\u2019t make the cut, I\u2019d be here all day. Miriam is just \u2013 what you see is what you get,\u201d said Knight.<\/p>\n

Knight, who was part of this year\u2019s Attitude 101 \u2018Film, TV and Music\u2019 list<\/a> for his Oscar-nominated short film, as well as for his accompanying credits as an on-stage and on-screen actor, also revealed what is next.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the process of developing the feature film version of\u00a0A Friend of Dorothy. So I\u2019m currently working on that. I\u2019m writing it at the moment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s always things in the pipeline, but that will be my main priority,\u201d Knight added, telling\u00a0Attitude\u00a0that Margolyes is \u201con board\u201d to return as the title character.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019ll be more casting\u201d \u2013 Knight says Margolyes is set to reprise her role in his upcoming feature film<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019ll be the same cast,\u201d he said, before explaining: \u201cAnd obviously, because it\u2019ll be a feature film, not a short film, there\u2019ll be more casting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Knight also praised\u00a0Attitude\u00a0cover star<\/a> and Attitude 101 trailblazer\u00a0Zack Polanski<\/a>, admitting that since Polanski became Green Party<\/a> leader in 2025, Knight has himself become a member of the party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event feels more special than ever, and to be honoured alongside him, it\u2019s just\u2013\u201d Knight paused. \u201cI joined the Green Party solely because of him. So there we go.\u201d<\/p>\n
