Crossing Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s sharpest battle axe Maggie Driscoll<\/a>\u00a0(Pauline McLynn<\/a>) isn\u2019t conducive to ones health. If you don\u2019t believe us, ask her husband\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026oh wait, you can\u2019t. She killed him<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are very few lengths she wouldn\u2019t go to in order to protect her family. The acid-tongued landlady even framed a homeless man<\/a> after her grandson Will\u00a0(Lucas Hodgson-Wale) viciously attacked Daniel Osbourne\u00a0(Rob Mallard)<\/a> and used it as leverage to wheedle her way back into her son, Ben<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0(Aaron McCusker<\/a>) life after she tried to vanquish Eva Price<\/a>\u00a0(Catherine Tyldesley<\/a>) from his life with an incredibly cruel Christmas Day stunt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While she failed in that attempt to rid herself and her son of Eva, she\u2019s continued to torment her, delighting in making her life difficult at every possible opportunity.<\/p>\n

It takes a brave woman to pursue a Driscoll boy, knowing it\u2019ll likely earn the wrath of grandma dearest. Lauren Bolton<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0(Cait Fitton<\/a>) pretty hard though, isn\u2019t she?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a quiet period for our Lauren of late. After crash landing onto the cobbles as the daughter of a far-right extremist group leader<\/a>, she later got involved with evil solicitor\u00a0Joel Deering<\/a>\u00a0(Calum Lill<\/a>) and\u00a0became pregnant with his child<\/a> before bashing his head in<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yeah, admittedly, the girl deserved a break, didn\u2019t she?<\/p>\n

After catching the eye of Ollie Driscoll<\/a>\u00a0(Raphael Akuwudike<\/a>), who\u2019d not long been dumped by Dee-Dee Bailey\u00a0(Channique Sterling-Brown)<\/a>, the two struck up a new romance over a couple of dates. There\u2019s been some hiccups of course, but isn\u2019t there always?<\/p>\n

As sparks continue to fly between Lauren and Ollie, they\u2019re both hopeful that said sparks could turn into a fully fledged, romantic flame. Not if Maggie has anything to say about it, though.<\/p>\n

With Lauren working at the Rover\u2019s as a barmaid, Maggie thinks she\u2019s got the measure of her, and in her opinion, she\u2019s simply not good enough for her grandson, and she\u2019s unprepared to let it lie.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s not too ashamed to admit it either, as she freely admits to both Ben and Eva that she\u2019s actively working against them, altering the rota to scupper their planned date and keep them apart.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s not backwards in coming forward, either. When speaking with Ollie, she lets forth with the vitriol and makes her feelings perfectly clear: he could do much, much better for himself than Lauren and she\u2019s in no way, shape or form good enough for him.<\/p>\n

With Ollie clearly incredibly into Lauren, how will he respond to his grandma\u2019s actions? Will he fall in line with the matriarch? Or follow his heart?<\/p>\n

And what of Lauren? She\u2019s feisty, tough as nails and already seen off one psycho, but has she met her match in Maggie?<\/p>\n
