Picture: Maidstone council planning portal<\/p>\n<p>The scheme consists of three \u201cdistinct developable areas\u201d across 0.22 hectares to make way for the 18 new homes.<\/p>\n<p>Two are located in Granville Road, which the local authority cites in its application submitted in September as \u201ccurrently featuring a mix of residential, commercial, and light industrial uses\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It added: \u201cHowever, ongoing construction and approved residential schemes indicate a clear shift toward a fully residential character.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An RJ Kingslands warehouse adjacent to the Granville Garages and Britannia House sites, both currently under construction, is to be knocked down and become a four-storey apartment block.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 1184 795\" alt=\"How the block of flats could look. Picture: Maidstone council planning portal\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"ET3UBMMFSYNKJ0M5OTFG.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.49\"\/>How the block of flats could look.\u00a0Picture: Maidstone council planning portal<\/p>\n<p>It would feature eight apartments, of which six will be one-bedroom, and two will be two-bedroom flats.<\/p>\n<p>The building would have undercroft parking with six spaces and a secure cycle store with capacity for 10 bikes.<\/p>\n<p>An additional two parking spaces will be located opposite the flat block entrance on the other side of Granville Road.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the street, a second RJ Kingslands warehouse, along with the three-storey office building Granville House, will be demolished.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 1112 723\" alt=\"The RJ Kingslands north warehouse.
