Martin Freeman<\/a> has landed his next role in the upcoming British drama Oddly Flowers. The movie centres around a young woman whose sheltered life is turned upside down following the death of her father.<\/p>\n

Suddenly all alone during the Christmas holidays, Audrey begins to question her mysterious upbringing, as well as the disappearance of her beloved pet mouse.<\/p>\n

With the help of charming inventor Judd, she embarks on an eye-opening adventure, travelling from Newfoundland to England in search of the family she was never allowed to meet. <\/p>\n

The movie is based on Jessica Grant’s novel Come, Thou Tortoise, and stars House Of The Dragon<\/a>‘s Emily Carey<\/a> in the lead role. <\/p>\n

According to Screen Daily<\/a>, Freeman will play her father Walter, an eccentric scientist, while Sam Spruell features as her uncle Thoby.<\/p>\n

The cast is rounded out by Alex Eling (as Judd), Alistair Petrie, Lindsay Duncan and Melanie Nicholls-King. Meanwhile, Jordan Canning serves as writer, director and producer on the project. <\/p>\n

“I’ve been carrying this story with me for more than 15 years \u2013 ever since I first read Jessica Grant’s remarkable novel and began imagining its world on screen,” Canning said. <\/p>\n

“To finally bring it to life with a cast of this calibre is beyond anything I allowed myself to hope for. This has been a long journey, but having such an extraordinary group of actors at the heart of the film makes the wait entirely worthwhile.”<\/p>\n

Filming is scheduled to begin next week in the Canadian province of Newfoundland, before moving to Cornwall and London in late March. <\/p>\n

Oddly Flowers will be released across Canada in 2027, with a European debut yet to be announced. <\/p>\n
