Brits have a reputation for being a bunch of prudes. But while we\u00a0may squeam at the\u00a0prospect of talking about\u00a0sex, we\u2019re having plenty of\u00a0it. And locals of one British city\u00a0in particular are getting it on more than anyone else.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Time Out\u00a0has gathered data from residents of 15 of the UK\u2019s biggest cities to find out what people\u2019s dating lives look like right now.\u00a0We asked more than 2,800 city dwellers about how\u00a0often they see someone attractive, how often they go out on dates, how often they flirt and how often they have sex. Now, it\u2019s time to dish the dirt.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The UK city\u00a0having the most sex is\u00a0Cambridge. Our survey found that folk in Cambridge<\/a> are\u00a0doing the deed an average of 7.72 times a month \u2013\u00a0nearly\u00a0twice\u00a0a week. If we break it down by generation, the city\u2019s millennials are the most active of the bunch, having sex an average of 9.5 times per month. Gen Z respondents, on the other hand, told us they\u2019re\u00a0making love\u00a08.2\u00a0times a month on average\u00a0while Cambridge\u2019s Gen Xers reported only having sex 1.66 times a month and Boomers are bonking 2.45 times per month.\u00a0<\/p>\n Locals in Cambridge also told us that they see someone they find attractive 12.96 times per month, they go on\u00a0more dates than anywhere else in the country (4.8 times per month) and are among the top three flirtiest cities (6.62 times a month) \u2013\u00a0all key ingredients to getting lucky. The high\u00a0romp rate could also have something to do with the fact that around 20 percent of the city\u2019s population is made up of\u00a0university students.\u00a0Globally, Cambridge is the 22nd most sexually active city in the world<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Not far behind the people of Cambridge were the\u00a0those of Birmingham<\/a> and Brighton<\/a>.\u00a0Locals in both of those cities are having sex an average of 7.62 times per month.<\/p>\n As for the urbanites having the least hanky panky, Londoners are at the bottom of the pile. On average, they\u2019re having sex just 4.5 times per month.
