Liverpool allowed Luke Chambers to join Charlton Athletic in January, and the 21-year-old is looking to put a frustrating 16 months of injury woes behind him\"Luke<\/p>\n

Luke Chambers is impressing on loan at Charlton Athletic<\/p>\n

Luke Chambers\u2019 impressive start to life on loan at Charlton Athletic continued on Saturday as the defender played his first 90 minutes for the Addicks.<\/p>\n

The defender has struggled with injuries in recent years and went almost a year without playing due to a recurring back issue. Chambers <\/a>had excelled in the early months of last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, but featured just twice after November as the injury problems took their toll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He returned to Liverpool for rehab<\/a> and played just two more games for the Latics. Chambers then missed the entire first half of the 2025\/26 campaign as he continued to heal from the stress fracture, before he was permitted to join Charlton on loan in January.<\/p>\n

The former England youth international is eager to put together a run of appearances at the London club<\/a>, and has already defied expectations by starting four successive matches. In the latter, last week\u2019s 1-0 win over Stoke City, Chambers even managed to play a full 90 minutes for the first time in 16 months.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old, who has made four appearances for Liverpool\u2019s first team, is already making an impression on his new Charlton team-mates.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuke Chambers is a very good young player and it’s been great so far,\u201d center-back Amari’i Bell told the club\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I cover him and he covers me, and we’re just building that relationship game by game so it’s been really good playing alongside him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chambers also provided an assist for Lyndon Dykes with an excellent cross against Leicester City<\/a> in just his second-ever appearance for the club.<\/p>\n

He has played as a wing-back under Nathan Jones at Charlton and wants to showcase his talents before returning to Liverpool next summer, when a decision will be made on his long-term future.<\/p>\n

\u201cOff the back of an injury, the main thing in my head was just to show people how good I am,\u201d the Liverpool loanee told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition<\/a>.<\/p>\n
