Authorities have now tracked down the culprit <br \/>(Picture: Cover Media)<\/p>\n<p>The New Forest is world famous for its wild horses, babbling brooks, ancient trees and\u2026 old tyres.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a litterbug has been tracked down and fined after \u2018one of the worst ever\u2019 fly-tipping dumps ever in the protected beauty spot.<\/p>\n<p>The mound of rubbish was dumped at Norleywood Inclosure, near the B3054 outside Lymington, Hampshire, overnight on October 1.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said it included cardboard, electrical appliances and numerous black sacks filled with household waste.<\/p>\n<p>The waste dump sparked a joint investigation by New Forest District Council (NFDC) and Forestry <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/england\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England<\/a>, which manages much of the land within the protected national park.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Start your day informed with Metro&#8217;s <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/newsletters\/news-updates\/?signup-source=news-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/newsletters\/breaking-news?ito=news-article&amp;?signup_source=news-article-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n<p>At the time, officials shared images of the rubbish online and appealed for help to identify the people responsible.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/coverimages55477733-5f28.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-26950809\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tThe New Forest is a protected area and is considered to be one of the most beautiful woods in the country (Picture: Cover Media)<\/p>\n<p>Today, NFDC confirmed its enforcement team traced the waste to someone who lived outside the area and had paid an unlicensed company to remove rubbish from their home.<\/p>\n<p>The person was issued with a fixed penalty notice.
