‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months.<\/p>\n

The British actress, who played Hermione Grainger<\/a> in the wizarding franchise, was caught speeding one evening in Oxford in July last year.<\/p>\n

According to the magistrates court in High Wycombe, the 35-year-old, drove her Audi S3 at 61kmh in a 50kmh zone.<\/p>\n

She already had nine points on her driving licence. In Britain, if you accumulate 12 points within a three year period, you can be disqualified from sitting behind the wheel for at least six months.<\/p>\n

Watson also received a fine of \u20ac1,152 and did not attend the five-minute hearing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear how the ruling will affect her ability to continue studying at the University of Oxford for a master’s degree in creative writing. She started the course in 2023.<\/p>\n

In a quirky coincidence for law enforcement, Watson’s former co-star Zoe Wanamaker was also penalised for excess speed by the same court and also didn’t appear before judges.<\/p>\n

The 76-year-old actress, who played Madam Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was caught speeding in August last year in the town of Newbury in Berkshire. <\/p>\n

The magistrates’ were told that she was driving her Volvo at 74kmh in a 70kmh zone.<\/p>\n
