\n\tThe trailer for Anthony Maras\u2019 Pressure<\/a> is here. The Working Title and Studiocanal film lands in theaters May 29<\/a> in the U.S. via Focus Features<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten by David Haig and director Maras, the film captures the tense 72 hours before D-Day, the invasion of Normandy during in World War II. Known as Operation Overlord, the \u201clargest and most dangerous seaborne invasion in history\u201d included 300,000 men, but it faced some inclement weather.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe screenplay is based on Haig\u2019s critically lauded play, which explores the personal and military stresses on Andrew Scott<\/a>\u2018s character Capt. James Stagg and how tensions grew between the teams with different weather forecasts for the date of the proposed D-Day.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Pressure, Gen. Dwight Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser<\/a>) and meteorologist Stagg must navigate weather predictions and the down-to-the-wire timing of conducting the invasion that would determine the Allies\u2019 turning the tide and winning World War II. Two aggressive storms in the forecast send the pair back and forth on conducting the dangerous land, sea and sky seizure of Reims, France.<\/p>\n

\n\tChris Messina and Damian Lewis also star. Messina promises a \u201ccalm and sunny\u201d D-Day invasion, which Stagg disagrees with vehemently. At the end of the trailer, he asserts, \u201cThe storms that I\u2019m talking about are real, and the wrath of nature is real.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Cass Marks and Lucas Webb and executive produced by Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, Joe Naftalin, Anthony Maras, Angela Moneke and Sheeraz Shah.<\/p>\n
