Scary Movie 6 didn’t miss the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever with its trailer release as the surprise sequel<\/a> will drop a first look at screenings of one of the franchises it has long parodied.<\/p>\n

The spoof film, set to arrive to our screens in June, is releasing a first trailer in cinemas on 27 February right before Scream 7, the latest offering in one of the slasher sagas that is at the very foundation of Scary Movie. <\/p>\n

This means moviegoers will be treated to the parody trailer right before finding out what happens to Scream’s Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) as she confronts Ghostface once again.<\/p>\n

“We drop the trailer [on 27 February] in front of Scream, so when you see Scream, you’re gonna see the Scary Movie trailer” co-writer, producer and star Marlon Wayans confirmed during an appearance on Rap Attack Official<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the Scary Movie 6 trailer drops in cinemas on 27 February, there is still the chance it could be posted online before then, so keep your eyes peeled if you can’t wait to get a glimpse of Anna Faris and Regina Hall returning as iconic final girls ingenue Cindy Campbell and no-nonsense Brenda Meeks.<\/p>\n

Wayans is also set to reprise the role of Shorty Meeks, with other familiar faces including Shawn Wayans (also co-writer with brothers Marlon and Keenen Ivory Wayans) as Ray Wilkins, Jon Abrahams as Bobby Prinze, Lochlyn Munro as Greg Phillippe, and Dave Sheridan as Doofy Gilmore. <\/p>\n

Chris Elliott, Cheri Oteri and Anthony Anderson, who frequently starred in the franchise in supporting roles, are also set to appear.<\/p>\n

Plot details for Scary Movie 6 are being kept under wraps, as are the horror films that are getting the Scary Movie treatment this time around. What is known is that the upcoming movie is a direct sequel to Scary Movie 4, released in 2006. <\/p>\n

The fifth film in the saga, Scary Movie V, is the only one not starring Faris and Hall as Cindy and Brenda. The 2013 chapter holds the unenviable record of being the lowest-grossing in the series as well as the lowest-rated Scary Movie on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, where it sits at an appalling critics’ score of 4%. <\/p>\n

Scary Movie 6 releases in cinemas on 12 June.<\/p>\n
