Cycling News | Bike Reviews"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>While the rest of the cycling industry focuses on recovery after a turbulent few years, the fitness tech boom shows no signs of slowing down, with <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/tags\/garmin\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Garmin<\/a> reporting a record consolidated revenue for 2025, 15 per cent up on the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the GPS tech giant\u2019s consolidated revenue was $7.25 billion (around \u00a35.4bn), compared to $6.29 billion (just under \u00a34.7bn) in 2024, the company\u2019s CEO and president announcing in a statement that Garmin will aim to \u201cbuild on this momentum\u201d over the next 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/edge550850cycling.jpg\" alt=\"2025 Garmin Edge 850\"\/>2025 Garmin Edge 850 (Image Credit: Garmin)<\/p>\n<p>The US company\u2019s net income also increased by 18 per cent in 2025, rising from $1.7bn in 2024 to $2bn, as earnings per share shot up from $7.35 to $8.59.<\/p>\n<p>For the fourth quarter of 2025, Garmin also reported another record surge of 17 per cent in revenue, rising to $2.12 billion (\u00a31.57bn), up $300m from the $1.82 billion (\u00a31.35bn) recorded during the same period the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>The brand\u2019s fitness segment sales, which include its cycling products, also increased by 42 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025, totalling $766 million (\u00a3569m), while that segment\u2019s revenue grew by 33 per cent to $2.36bn.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/screenshot-2026-02-03-152902.png\" alt=\"Garmin Varia RearVue 820\"\/>Garmin Varia RearVue 820 (Image Credit: Farrelly Atkinson)<\/p>\n<p>Garmin noted that all of its departments, including its outdoor, auto, aviation, and marine segments, posted record full-year revenues for 2025, as the brand shipped over 20 million units last year, itself a high-water mark for the company.<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/tech-news\/garmin-launches-new-bike-computers-and-power-pedals-315833\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Garmin launched its new Edge 550 and Edge 850 cycling computers<\/a>, before <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/tech-news\/five-cool-things-317193\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">updating its Rally power meter pedals<\/a> with a new rechargeable spindle offering a claimed 90-hour battery life in December.<\/p>\n<p>And earlier this month, the <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/tech-news\/garmin-varia-rearvue-820-317945\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">brand unveiled the new Varia RearVue 820<\/a>, a radar rear bike light, priced at \u00a3260, that promises \u201cadvanced vehicle tracking, superior battery life and a brighter taillight than ever before\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2025-garmin-forerunner-970.jpg\" alt=\"2025 Garmin Forerunner 970.jpg\"\/>2025 Garmin Forerunner 970.jpg (Image Credit: Farrelly Atkinson)<\/p>\n<p>However, according to Garmin\u2019s latest financial report, the 42 per cent growth in its fitness sector was \u201cprimarily due to strong demand for wearables\u201d, as the boom in smartwatches and fitness-specific wearable devices continues.<\/p>\n<p>While we all associate Garmin with cycling computers, <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/review\/garmin-forerunner-970-315665\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">selling hundreds of millions of pounds worth of wearable fitness products<\/a>, such as smartwatches and running-specific devices, has <a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/content\/news\/garmin-celebrates-record-revenue-316605\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">allowed the brand to \u201cdiversify\u201d and continue to grow<\/a> at a time when many across the bike industry are still struggling.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company\u2019s Garmin Connect app data report, users\u2019 activity levels increased by eight per cent during 2025, reflecting, the brand says, \u201ca high level of engagement with our products and app platforms\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/road.cc\/feature\/can-bike-brands-finally-breathe-again-2026-317691\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&gt;
