But credit agencies have flagged that some of the sector’s biggest customers, including OpenAI, are not expected to turn profitable until later in the decade.

These data centres are financed on the basis of 20-year demand assumptions.

And if that demand translates into projected revenue growth, these structures will look prescient. On the other hand, if it does not, the risk will sit in private credit vehicles and long-term leases.

US markets rally as tech stocks look to boost AI capabilities

  Similarly tagged content:

   Sections

   Categories

   People & Organisations

Thursday 19 February 2026 1:52 pm | Updated: Thursday 19 February 2026 1:53 pm Share Facebook Share on Facebook…

[20
554,43964,1119,733,4308,3845,159062,84,995,1324,50,3352,227,86,56,54,55
post-436235","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-artificial-intelligence","tag-ai","tag-ai-bubble","tag-anthropic","tag-artificial-intelligence","tag-artificialintelligence","tag-big-tech","tag-big-technologies","tag-business","tag-elon-musk","tag-meta","tag-news","tag-nvidia","tag-tech","tag-technology","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom","tag-unitedkingdom
["GET
