Emmerdale has aired a rare update on Evan Fletcher after a ‘forgotten’ Home Farm story. Viewers know that Billy and Dawn Fletcher’s baby son was diagnosed with leukaemia<\/a> back in 2024, with the soap rarely ever mentioning the diagnosis anymore. <\/p>\n

In tonight’s episode, Billy and Dawn referenced their son’s long-term illness for the first time in a while, giving fans a long-awaited update. <\/p>\n

During the episode, the former couple discussed their son, revealing the good news that Evan’s treatment is working. While discussing the kids and their divorce, Billy asked Dawn: “Do we tell them about Evan’s treatment working?”<\/p>\n

Dawn replied: “Yeah. I mean, I think we should tell them together. It’s pretty monumental news, isn’t it?”<\/p>\n

Over the past few months, fans have been quite confused over this story disappearing from the show, claiming that Evan’s illness is hardly ever featured. <\/p>\n

One fan on X<\/a> asked: “What has happened to Evan?” While another viewer<\/a> wrote: “Have I missed something @emmerdale Has baby Evan died?”<\/p>\n

“So how is Evan now after his Leukemia? Is he all better? They seem to have forgotten about that. A bit like Kerry’s diabetes and Eric’s Parkinson’s,” wrote one fan<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“Hey @emmerdale has dawn forgotten she’s got a poorly baby Evan, he’s disappeared,” penned another<\/a> confused fan. <\/p>\n

Another fan<\/a> said: “Anyone else find it odd that none of the kids are around in Emmerdale\u2026 especially Lucas and Evan whom you\u2019d think would be around if Clemmie is around\u2026 it\u2019s a serious flaw to continuity.”<\/p>\n

Back when Evan’s leukaemia story was announced, producer Laura Shaw told Digital Spy and other press: “What we really wanted to show with this story is what a stress and strain a long-term illness like this can put on a family.”<\/p>\n
