{"id":439304,"date":"2026-02-22T08:15:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T08:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/439304\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T08:15:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T08:15:09","slug":"carlos-alcaraz-gives-brutally-honest-opinion-on-jannik-sinners-qatar-open-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/439304\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Alcaraz gives brutally honest opinion on Jannik Sinner&#8217;s Qatar Open loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Alcaraz has given his verdict on Jannik Sinner\u2019s defeat at the 2026 Qatar Open as he also reacted to matching a world No 1 feat accomplished by his rival.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alcaraz<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner<\/a> were heavily favoured to meet in the final in Doha for what would have been their first match of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>However, Sinner fell to world No 16 Jakub Mensik in the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz defeated world No 14 and 2025 Doha champion Andrey Rublev 7-6(3), 6-4 in the last four.
