Ice Universe just poured cold water on people hoping for a sensor upgrade<\/a> on the 200MP main camera on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, there is still a fairly important upgrade coming, says the leakster.<\/p>\n

The S26 Ultra will use the same ISOCELL HP2<\/a> 1\/1.3\u201d sensor that Samsung has been using since the S23 Ultra. So, no 1.1\u201d 200MP Sony sensor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Ice reports that Samsung will improve the lens with a wider f\/1.4 aperture. This would let 47% more light reach the sensor, compared to the f\/1.7 lens on the S25 Ultra.<\/p>\n

An f\/1.4 aperture may not be the best for daylight shots, however a solution for that already exists \u2013 remember when certain Galaxy S models had a dual aperture? The Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+ were the last to have this feature and could switch between f\/1.5 and f\/2.4.<\/p>\n

Indeed, The Cat mentioned that Samsung is considering resurrecting this feature<\/a>. And now we know why bringing back this feature would be necessary. However, it\u2019s not clear whether this means a dual aperture (i.e. two settings and nothing in between) or a variable aperture like we\u2019ve seen from other brands.<\/p>\n

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and One UI 8.5<\/a>, a bigger screen<\/a> and (possibly) bigger battery<\/a>, with faster charging<\/a> to boot, plus a number of camera upgrades<\/a>, including a new telephoto module.<\/p>\n
