Sky Sports have claimed the VAR team ruled Mikey Moore<\/a> WAS fouled late on against Livingston \u2013 but the officials refused to award a penalty.<\/p>\n The Light Blues came from behind in West Lothian to rescue a point after Brooklyn Kabongolo and Lewis Smith had fired the Premiership’s rock-bottom side into a two-goal lead. Cristian Montano was shown a red card for a last-man challenge on Djeidi Gassama – which proved to be a turning point in the showdown.<\/p>\n Emmanuel Fernandez and Moore then netted twice for the visitors <\/a>in the closing stages, but Rangers <\/a>were denied a spot kick in injury time. Cammy Kerr chopped down Moore in the attacking third – with referee Ryan Lee opting against penalising the incident.<\/p>\n David Dickinson in the VAR room checked the positioning of the challenge, and decided the flashpoint did not take place in the penalty area. Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker appeared to confirm the incident had been ruled a foul by the team in Clydesdale House, with the TV team privy to the match officials discussions.<\/p>\n He said: ‘They are checking the location of the foul now. And that is going to be one of the biggest decisions of the season.”<\/p>\n Celtic <\/a>hero Chris Sutton added: “I think it’s inside the box. He slides outside the box but I think the contact comes inside the box. I might be wrong, but I think that’s a shocker.”<\/p>\n Former referees Des Roache and Steve Conroy also shared their view from the Ref’s View podcast.<\/p>\n The former SFA whistlers posted to X: “This is a clear penalty, four minutes of a VAR check and they confirmed a foul according to commentators.<\/p>\n “It is incredible to us that this wasn\u2019t given or the ref wasn\u2019t called over for an on-field review. A very controversial weekend topped up with a really bad decision.”<\/p>\n Former Rangers man Kris Boyd, however, felt it was the right call. He said: “Because it was so close there will be Rangers fans that are disappointed.<\/p>\n “From the point of contact you can see he is clearly outside of the box. Once they decide it’s not a DOGSO (Denial of Goal Scoring Opportunity), it’s the correct decision.<\/p>\n “Had it have been pulling and continued into the box, it would have been given as a penalty.
