Three people have died following a three-vehicle collision in Co Armagh last night.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred on the Moy Road near Armagh city shortly before 10.30pm.<\/p>\n

The three victims of the crash have been named as 23-year-old Laura Hoy from Cookstown in Co Tyrone, 31-year-old Conor Quinn from Derrylaughan, Co Tyrone and 49-year-old John Guy from Keady, Co Armagh.<\/p>\n

Four other people were injured, with three being treated in hospitals in Belfast and Armagh.<\/p>\n

It brought to seven the number of fatalities on Irish roads yesterday.<\/a><\/p>\n

PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Davy Beck said the families of those who died in Co Armagh have been informed and family liaison officers are supporting them.<\/p>\n

“One can only imagine the real sense of shock and grief that is engulfing those families at this particular time.”<\/p>\n

He expressed his “personal” and “heartfelt” condolences to the families impacted by this “real tragedy”.<\/p>\n

Speaking near the scene of the crash, he said emergency services were “faced with a really challenging and a difficult scene” last night.<\/p>\n

He said one person is being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, with two others treated at Craigavon Area Hospital.<\/p>\n

All three people are said to be in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

ACC Beck said he has no doubt “that this community will rally around those impacted by this terrible event.”<\/p>\n

Fermanagh & South Tyrone MLA Diana Armstrong said it was “a very dark day for families who have been plunged into shock and mourning”.<\/p>\n

Ms Armstrong said she sends them her “deepest sympathies and sincere condolences”, adding they must be “totally at a loss to comprehend the scale of this tragedy”.<\/p>\n

The Ulster Unionist Party deputy leader said: “The toll of the loss of life in this incident has shocked the local community and many will be holding those impacted in their thoughts and prayers today.<\/p>\n

“My thanks go to the PSNI and emergency services who attended the scene and transferred those affected for medical treatment.”<\/p>\n

Police say inquiries are continuing and have asked anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to contact them.<\/p>\n

The Moy Road, the scene of last night’s crash, has now reopened, police confirmed.<\/p>\n
