{"id":441952,"date":"2026-02-23T23:01:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T23:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/441952\/"},"modified":"2026-02-23T23:01:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T23:01:10","slug":"james-mcfadden-weighs-in-on-auston-trustys-red-card-for-celtic-against-hibernian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/441952\/","title":{"rendered":"James McFadden weighs in on Auston Trusty&#8217;s red card for Celtic against Hibernian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=67hailhail.com \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Add as preferred source on Google <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Whatever your views on Auston Trusty\u2019s red card, one thing is for sure: it turned the tide of the game for Celtic against Hibernian. <\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s even more frustrating is that it all stemmed from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Celtic<\/a> corner, so some would suggest that it was pretty unnecessary, as David Gray\u2019s side went on to secure their first win at Parkhead since 2010. <\/p>\n<p>Whilst some, including Ally McCoist, think that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/match\/ally-mccoist-states-get-rid-of-var-after-auston-trustys-red-card-for-celtic-against-hibernian\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trusty shouldn\u2019t have been sent off<\/a>, James McFadden thinks his actions were \u2018utter madness.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that Jamie McGrath did all he could to make the most of the situation, including going to ground like he had been hit over the head with a baseball bat. <\/p>\n<p>          Who do you pick to replace Auston Trusty against Rangers? \ud83e\udd14 <\/p>\n<p class=\"grv-talking-point__subtitle\">Let us know in the comments below<\/p>\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/67HH-2026-02-23T074819.876-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Dane Murray of Celtic celebrates scoring his team's third goal during the Premier Sports League Cup match between Celtic and Falkirk at Celtic Park, Benjamin Arthur applauds the Brentford fans after a pre-season friendly\" class=\"wp-image-364589\" \/>Credit: Getty Images\/Ian MacNicol\/Octavio Passos       James McFadden is critical of Auston Trusty after his red card against Hibernian<\/p>\n<p>This red card falls into the category of \u2018violent conduct\u2019, and how Trusty was seemingly far too aggressive when he smacked McGrath\u2019s arm after the Hibs man was grabbing him by the shoulder. <\/p>\n<p>That was noted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/james-mcfadden\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">McFadden<\/a>, who stated that it\u2019s \u2018the force\u2019 in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/auston-trusty\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trusty<\/a> used that makes it all the worse, and how he can have \u2018no complaints\u2019, as he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/football\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Sky Sports Football<\/a> (22\/02\/26). <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thing is, people might look at it and say, \u2018How is it violent conduct because of where he has caught him?\u2019\u201d said McFadden. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the force in it. He actually makes contact, and it\u2019s utter madness from Auston Trusty that he feels that\u2019s acceptable that he could do that.
