Jordan Spieth says he feels “very confident” after ending the PGA Tour’s west coast swing with a good performance at the Genesis Invitational<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Spieth<\/a>, 32, has not been inside the winner’s circle since the 2022 RBC Heritage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The American got back inside the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking<\/a> a year later but went on a steady decline after hurting his wrist in May 2023. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Spieth initially decided to play through the pain and registered just three top 10 finishes from 22 starts in 2024.<\/p>\n

He then decided to have surgery to repair the damage after the Tour Championship and was forced to sit on the side-lines for seven months, making his return to action in February 2025.<\/p>\n

By and large, his 2025 campaign was largely forgettable, with the three-time major champion finishing 61st in the FedEx Cup standings and not contending in either The Masters, U.S. Open, Open and PGA Championship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But he appears to believe he is starting to turn a corner, finally, after concluding the west coast swing by sharing 12th place with Scottie Scheffler at Riviera.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This season, Spieth finished 24th at the Sony Open, missed the cut at the WM Phoenix Open and shared 29th place at Pebble Beach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I feel like I got a lot out of my game,” Speith said of his form on the PGA Tour<\/a> in 2026 so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I thought in this three-week stretch [Phoenix, Pebble Beach, Genesis] each week got better.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I found some good clarity on what I needed to be working on, which it takes some rounds to know.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I had a lot of off time and I played once [the season-opening Sony Open in January], and then I went to Phoenix and I just got in kind of a little bad rut [missing the cut], and then last week was kind of a bit of a mess in a way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“All in all – not that this week wasn’t to start, but I was on the same thing the entire time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I didn’t quite get my swing where I wanted it to, so my ball control was probably a ‘C’ and I really managed my game extremely well here.”<\/p>\n

Spieth said he has seen a noticeable improvement on the greens.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Looking at my spot, like looking up, looking at the hole, my spot seems to be a weapon that I\u2019ve got back,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Which is really nice because I feel solid whether it’s breaking or straight, anything in shorter range. Then that frees you up as you start to expand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“So yeah, all three weeks were really good with the putter.”<\/p>\n

Spieth said he had been working on the issue with longtime coach Cameron McCormick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“There’s definitely some work that went into it,” he said. “There was a change and it\u2019s been really good for me.”<\/p>\n

“It’s a big deal. I mean, it really, you start as close to the hole as you can and everything that feels comfortable just keeps going further and further away all the way into the long game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“So yeah, I feel very confident.”<\/p>\n

Spieth will now take a short break before returning to action at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He accepted a sponsor invite<\/a> into the signature event at Bay Hill.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I don’t ever want to use an exemption again and I was hoping to not have to use that one, but I have a good history there and I feel like I got some momentum,” Spieth said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
