I think I might be more excited for Scary Movie 6 than the next Scream.<\/p>\n

The hype kicks off this week when Paramount Pictures shares the first trailer for the film ahead of Scream 7.<\/p>\n

The movie doesn\u2019t come out until\u00a0June 12, and they\u2019re already being funny.<\/p>\n

All we know so far is that they\u2019re lampooning\u00a0Terrifier 3<\/a>, giving a nod to the iconic mall Santa scene in which Art the Clown blows up a bunch of children.<\/p>\n

DREAD CENTRAL can exclusively report that Scary Movie 6 will also parody Ryan Coogler\u2019s Oscar-nominated (and potential winner) Sinners, as well as Zach Cregger\u2019s modern masterpiece Weapons and Platinum Dunes\u2019 A Quiet Place.<\/p>\n

Seeing the Wayans harpoon Aunt Gladys from Weapons is going to be a highlight (I can only imagine what they\u2019ll do with the bell), for sure, and you know there\u2019s a fart joke lined up for the Quiet Place spoof.<\/p>\n

Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, the architects of the franchise, returned to write the script alongside longtime collaborator Rick Alvarez, who is also producing.<\/p>\n

Last year, Marlon Wayans told\u00a0EW<\/a>\u00a0that he promised\u00a0Scary Movie 6\u00a0would be \u201cno holds barred and equal opportunity offenders.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s how we always do it,\u201d he added. \u201cWe just want to make everybody laugh, and we don\u2019t care if you\u2019re sensitive. Even sensitive people need to laugh at themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

In that context, DREAD CENTRAL has heard the production may have shot something particularly controversial. While it\u2019s unclear whether it appears in the final cut, a source familiar with the production says that in the Sinners parody, the killer\u2019s Ghostface-inspired mask may depict blackface imagery.<\/p>\n

Trailer hits this Friday. I wonder what they\u2019ll reveal.<\/p>\n

The cast is massive, bringing back\u00a0Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan,\u00a0Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott\u00a0and\u00a0Jon Abrahams, with newly added roles for\u00a0Damon Wayans Jr.,\u00a0Kim Wayans, Heidi Gardner, and more.<\/p>\n

DREAD CENTRAL\u00a0previously reported exclusively that Felissa Rose appears in a sequence parodying\u00a0Terrifier 3, specifically skewering the mall scene in which\u00a0Art the Clown\u00a0blows up a group of children. The sequence was initially cut from the film but has since been reinstated in a trimmed-down edit. Rose is drenched in blood during the scene that also features an appearance by\u00a0Terrifier\u00a0producer\u00a0Michael Leavy.<\/p>\n

Terrifier\u00a0fans already know this, but Rose also appeared in\u00a0Terrifier 2, and Leavy played Will the exterminator in the first film, which makes this an extra fun callback.<\/p>\n

Paramount will release\u00a0Scary Movie 6\u00a0in theaters on\u00a0June 12, 2026.<\/p>\n
