Background

On August 5, 2025, EOCO seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale’s residence.

According to a press release issued by EOCO and signed by Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer, the seizure followed an operation in June 2025, carried out in response to a 2023 request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.

The operation, conducted by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), led to the discovery and confiscation of the 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which the FBI and Justice Department have linked to the proceeds of criminal activities of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month sentence in the US for multiple financial crimes.

EOCO stated that Shatta Wale could not provide proof of ownership or show evidence that he legally purchased the Lamborghini.

In a statement on August 21, 2025, EOCO said that during questioning, the Dancehall artiste was unable to identify the person from whom he bought the vehicle.

According to EOCO, Shatta Wale claimed that the seller had contacted him via WhatsApp, but he no longer has the person’s contact information.
