Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall\u2019s time at Chelsea only lasted a season, and he has now admitted that there were times he felt \u2018useless\u2019 at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

The midfielder joined the club from Leicester City straight after manager Enzo Maresca<\/a> had made the move to Stamford Bridge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The majority of Dewsbury-Hall\u2019s<\/a> starts came in the Conference League, and even though the Blues triumphed in that competition, it was not enough to convince him to stay.<\/p>\n

He got his move in the summer to Everton, and has now admitted to the Mail Online<\/a> that he felt \u2018useless\u2019 when he wasn\u2019t playing regular minutes in West London.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI had a lot of options but signed for Chelsea genuinely thinking I was gonna play. I believed I could. I know I could. And then football is football. Things happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously the competition was high. Rival midfielders were \u00a3100m players (Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez). It was a strange dynamic at times. It was quite fortunate for the club that the manager could field two very strong teams.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it was weird \u2013 it almost felt like no matter how well I played in midweek, I would not play at the weekend and that was the\u00a0only thing that didn\u2019t sit well with me. In football it\u2019s important, if you\u2019re playing well, that you get the chance to play. I\u2019m a very emotional guy. If I\u2019m not playing, I feel useless, basically. I feel like I haven\u2019t got a purpose because that\u2019s my life.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo yeah, there were dark times where I thought, \u2018I don\u2019t care about money or anything else. I just wanna play football, so why aren\u2019t I?\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since leaving the club, the midfielder has been enjoying regular football again as part of the Everton side under David Moyes.<\/p>\n

Dewsbury-Hall believes he has become a better player since leaving Chelsea<\/a>, and his record on the pitch suggests that is true.<\/p>\n

He has five Premier League goals to his name so far this season, after a campaign where he didn\u2019t score a league goal for the Blues.<\/p>\n

The move has worked out best for everyone, with Chelsea promoting and reaping the rewards of Andrey Santos<\/a> as a regular in the first team squad.<\/p>\n
