\n Freedom Leisure will take over the operation of Braintree Council’s leisure services from the start of September.\n<\/p>\n
\n The key facilities include Braintree Swim and Fitness, Witham Leisure Centre and Witham Sports Ground, Braintree Sports and Health Club and Halstead Leisure Centre.\n<\/p>\n
\n Freedom Leisure is taking over from Fusion Lifestyle, which has run the centres for 13 years.\n<\/p>\n
\n The not-for-profit leisure trust has been awarded a three-year contract, with the option to extend for another two years.\n<\/p>\n
\n Council health and well-being boss Lynette Bowers-Flint said: \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Freedom Leisure to the Braintree district.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Their vision for the future of leisure services aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting health and wellbeing within our community.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We are excited about the new partnership, and we believe it will benefit our community and our residents.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n The council says one of the key priorities for the new contract will be to improve the experience for customers across the district.\n<\/p>\n
\n Freedom Leisure\u2019s chief exec Ivan Horsfall-Turner said the trust was “delighted” to be working with Braintree Council, and it was an exciting time for the area.”\n<\/p>\n
