But I think the sense I’m getting is that they’re backing away from putting their exclusive console stuff like traditional single-player stuff on PC.”

Asked about the upcoming “Marvel’s Wolverine” game from Insomniac Games, he said he “wouldn’t be surprised if it never came to PC, but even if it does, you have a strong idea of what that is, and that you need a PlayStation to play it, at least for the indefinite future.”

Now, scooper NateTheHate2 has also weighed in, saying on X: “You’ll be seeing fewer single-player games arrive on PC. The decision to shift away from supporting PC was made last year. Naturally, some may still release (pending how far along the ports were), but it no longer appears to be a priority for Sony moving forward.”

“Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” which was a PS5 exclusive for nine months, is expected to launch for PC on March 19th but that hails from an external studio – not a Sony internal one.

PlayStation’s single-player titles on PC have been met with mixed success. Some of its earliest titles, like “Horizon: Zero Dawn,” “God of War,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man”, “Ghost of Tsushima” and “Stellar Blade” found strong success on the platform.

Even then, sales for PC are only a small fraction of what they were on console. The one title that did break through and proved a major hit across all platforms was live service title “Helldivers 2”.

If the claims are true, the move leaves a bunch of major PS5 & PS4 exclusives off the table in regards to hitting PC including Game of the Year winner “Astro Bot,” last year’s “Ghost of Yotei,” the upcoming “God of War” trilogy remake, “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection,” “Gran Turismo 7,” “Infamous: Second Son,” “Demon’s Souls,” “Shadow of the Colossus,” “Gravity Rush,” “Ratchet & Clank” and “Bloodborne” of course.

Guerrilla Games, Sony Interactive Ent.
