\n\tThe 2026 Actor Awards<\/a>, the ceremony formerly known as the SAG Awards, is underway Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell returning to host and Netflix<\/a> streaming live.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlready tonight, an emotional moment when The Studio\u2018s Catherine O\u2019Hara won Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Apple TV\u2019s The Studio. O\u2019Hara died January 30 after a brief illness<\/a> at age 71. Her co-star Seth Rogen, who won Best Actor in a Comedy Series earlier in the night, did the honors with a heartfelt acceptance speech after her name was read, and the crowd rose to its feet.<\/p>\n

\n\tRogen repeated his Emmy win with his victory tonight, as did Noah Wyle, who tonight won the Actor in a Drama series prize for HBO Max\u2019s The Pitt.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Studio also won the Actor Award for Comedy Series Ensemble tonight.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther early winners tonight included Keri Russell winning Best Actress in a Drama series for Netflix\u2019s The Diplomat, and Michelle Williams in the Television Movie or Limited Series best actress race for FX\/Hulu\u2019s Dying For Sex. In the preshow, HBO\u2019s The Last of Us in a repeat of last year and Paramount\u2019s Mission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning picking up wins today in the respective TV and film stunt categories.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn all, 15 competitive categories across film and TV are up for grabs, including SAG-AFTRA<\/a>\u2018s marquee Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the closest the awards ceremony has to a Best Picture category.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year, all five nominees<\/a> in the Cast category this year \u2014 Frankenstein (Netflix), Hamnet (Focus Features) Marty Supreme (A24), One Battle After Another (Warner Bros) and Sinners (Warner Bros) \u2014 are all also up for the Best Picture Oscar<\/a>. That was the case in 2025 too, when Conclave took SAG-AFTRA\u2019s Ensemble prize<\/a> but lost at the Oscars to Anora. That snapped a streak of three consecutive SAG winners (Oppenheimer, Everything Everywhere All at Once and CODA) who had gone on to claim Oscar\u2019s Best Picture.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Actor Awards have been even better at jibing with Oscar in the acting categories \u2014 the Actors Branch at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the largest of all the branches, after all. This year\u2019s frontrunners are in the mix including Hamnet\u2018s Jessie Buckley, Bugonia\u2018s Emma Stone, One Battle\u2018s Leonardo DiCaprio and Marty Supreme\u2018s Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, who won the best actor prize last year for A Complete Unknown.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tIn the TV categories tonight, there will be a new Drama Ensemble champ after FX\u2019s Sh\u014dgun won last year. Will there be a repeat for HBO\u2019s The White Lotus, which won in 2021 for its Sicily season and is up for it this year for Thailand?<\/p>\n

\n\tTonight\u2019s ceremony will also see Harrison Ford receive SAG-AFTRA\u2019s Life Achievement Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n
