Alongside iOS 27 and other software updates, Apple plans to unveil a modernized “Core AI” framework at WWDC 2026, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Core AI” will succeed Apple’s existing “Core ML” on-device machine learning framework<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The switch from ‘ML’ to ‘AI’ is significant,” said Gurman, in his Power On newsletter today. “Apple knows that ‘machine learning’ is a dated term that no longer resonates with developers or consumers. The general purpose of Core AI, though, remains the same: helping developers integrate outside AI models into their apps.”<\/p>\n

No further details were provided at this time.<\/p>\n

“Core AI” will be part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and more. Apple is expected to unveil the updates during its developers conference WWDC in June.<\/p>\n
