\n Lewis Hamilton doubled down on self-critical comments he made on Saturday after a poor finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix<\/a> on Sunday.\n <\/p>\n \n The seven-time world champion called himself \u201cuseless\u201d and suggested Ferrari might need to change drivers after qualifying in 12th position at the Hungaroring, with teammate Charles Leclerc qualifying on pole.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cIt\u2019s me every time. I\u2019m useless, absolutely useless,\u201d Hamilton told Sky Sports<\/a>. \u201cThe team have no problem. You\u2019ve seen the car\u2019s on pole. So they probably need to change driver.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n In Sunday\u2019s race, Hamilton was unable to improve on his starting position, finishing in 12th and over a lap behind race-winner Lando Norris of McLaren.\n <\/p>\n \n His race was punctuated by an incident with former title rival Max Verstappen, when their cars came extremely close to touching and Hamilton was forced off track but both drivers avoided punishment.\n <\/p>\n \n Hamilton was asked about his post-qualifying comments after Sunday\u2019s Grand Prix and continued to cut a down-beat figure.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cWhen you have a feeling, you have a feeling,\u201d the British driver said. \u201cThere is a lot going on in the background that is not great.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n He was then asked whether he still had the passion to continue racing and Hamilton was more emphatic.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cNo, I still love it, I still love the team,\u201d the 40-year-old said.\n <\/p>\n \n In a press conference with written media, Hamilton added that he\u2019ll \u201chopefully be back\u201d when F1 returns from its summer break at the Dutch Grand Prix on August 31, according to Sky Sports<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n \n In a statement released by Ferrari<\/a> though after the race, Hamilton was more definitive, calling the whole weekend \u201cchallenging\u201d and \u201cone to move on from.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cWe weren\u2019t able to make the progress we hoped for, but I\u2019m grateful for the effort everyone in the team put in throughout the weekend,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, we head into the break. I\u2019ll be using the time to reset, recharge and come back stronger. I\u2019m not where I want to be yet, but the fight\u2019s not over \u2013 don\u2019t count me out.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n It\u2019s been a frustrating debut season with Ferrari as a whole for Hamilton.
