Former WBO lightweight world champion Keyshawn Davis<\/a> seemed set to collide with WBO welterweight ruler Devin Haney<\/a>, but Davis has now moved onto a new target, after a lack of progress in negotiations for the Haney fight.<\/p>\n

Davis knocked out Denys Berinchyk to become the WBO lightweight champion one year ago, but his reign did not last long. Ahead of an attempted first defence against Edwin De Los Santos, he missed weight and was subsequently stripped of the belt last June.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event of the Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson undercard last month, Keyshawn made his ring return up at super-lightweight and knocked out Jamaine Ortiz in the final round of their meeting<\/a>, with just 13 seconds remaining on the clock.<\/p>\n

In the post-fight interview, an amped-up Davis demanded a showdown with fellow undefeated American Haney, who publicly agreed to face \u2018The Businessman\u2019 next<\/a>, in order to tee up a clash with pound-for-pound star, Stevenson.<\/p>\n

However, almost a month on from the fight, it appears as though there has been no movement in negotiations, with Haney instead being linked to a potential grudge match rematch with Ryan Garcia.<\/p>\n

As a result, Davis took to X<\/a> to instead call out fan-friendly former WBA super-featherweight world champion Lamont Roach Jr, who drew in back-to-back challenges for lightweight and super-lightweight world titles during 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince \u201cDebo\u201d [Haney] scary & never stood on his word, [Lamont Roach Jr.] you trying to fight me?\u201d<\/p>\n
