{"id":454896,"date":"2026-03-03T06:52:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T06:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/454896\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T06:52:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T06:52:15","slug":"residents-despair-at-rise-in-fly-tipping-on-famous-moors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/454896\/","title":{"rendered":"Residents&#8217; &#8216;despair&#8217; at rise in fly-tipping on famous moors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Responding, Bradford Council says it was forced to reduce some services due to &#8220;unprecedented financial challenges&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We chose these three sites as they were the least used of all the household waste recycling centres (HWRCs) in the district,&#8221; according to a spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Their closure provided a saving of \u00a3900,000 per year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The council spokesperson says that since the closures of the three tips, the number of people using four of the district&#8217;s remaining five HWRCs &#8211; Bowling Back Lane, Dealburn Road, Dowley Gap and Midland Road &#8211; has &#8220;risen by between 7% and 16%&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;At Roy Ings Keighley HWRC it has increased by 55%.
