Zootopia 2 on Disney+<\/p>\n

While both Netflix and Paramount talk big games about honoring a 45-day theatrical window for films before they hit streaming, Disney\u2019s CEO Bob Chapek has been a bigger champion of theatrical runs and Zootopia 2 would see a streaming date of March 11 on Disney+, after a 105-day theatrical window. The animated film would break box office records and gross upwards of $1.85 billion for a monster showing during the holidays last year. According to Deadline<\/a>, the film is the \u201chighest grossing animated MPA title of all time, will also ranking as the eighth highest grossing movie ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zootopia 2 is also critically beloved, as it recently won a BAFTA for Best Animated Feature and is nominated for the same award for the Oscars. Additionally, the film is so popular in China that there was a spike in interest for purchasing venomous pit vipers<\/a>, which the character Gary De\u2019Snake is in the film.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s\u00a0Zootopia 2\u00a0about?<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter cracking the biggest case in Zootopia\u2019s history, rookie cops Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman) find their partnership isn\u2019t as solid as they thought when Chief Bogo (voice of\u00a0Idris Elba) orders them to join the Partners in Crisis counseling program. But it doesn\u2019t take long for their partnership to be put to the ultimate test when they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mystery tied to the arrival of a venomous snake in the animal metropolis.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0Zootopia 2\u00a0introduces\u00a0Gary De\u2019Snake\u00a0(voice of Ke Huy Quan<\/a>), Nibbles (voice of Fortune Feimster) and quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby (voice of Quinta Brunson), the upcoming feature film also welcomes back a herd of characters who made their debut in the Oscar-winning film\u00a0Zootopia. \u2018It\u2019s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members,\u2019 said director\/writer Jared Bush (chief creative officer for Walt Disney Animation Studios). \u2018I can\u2019t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
