Felicity Huffman and William H Macy’s daughter made a rare appearance on Tuesday night when she hit the red carpet for the premiere of the upcoming HBO<\/a>\u00a0series Rooster.<\/p>\n

Sophia Macy, the couple’s eldest child, plays Ronni on the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old actress tends to keep a low profile, even seven years on from the Varsity Blues scandal that led to Huffman’s brief prison stint.<\/p>\n

Sophia, whose mother struggled to find work as a convicted felon<\/a>, was joined on the red carpet in New York City<\/a> by a bevy of stars, including Steve Carell, Zach Braff<\/a> and Connie Britton<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n

The nepo baby<\/a> rocked an edgy black leather jacket that was belted around her midriff. She paired it with a set of matching black leather pants and black heels, and she wore her strawberry blonde bob swept back behind her ears.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Huffman was\u00a0sentenced\u00a0to 11 days in federal prison as part\u00a0of her plea deal in the 2019 college admissions scandal.<\/p>\n

Sophia Macy, daughter of\u00a0Felicity Huffman and William H Macy, made a rare appearance on Tuesday when she hit the red carpet in New York for the premiere of HBO series Rooster<\/p>\n

The crime<\/a> operation, focused on corruption in academia, also saw Full House star\u00a0Lori Loughlin<\/a> and designer\u00a0Mossimo Giannulli<\/a>\u00a0convicted and sent to prison.<\/p>\n

Huffman was initially taken into custody in March 2019 in connection with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud<\/a>; she was subsequently released on $250,000 bail.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Huffman entered a guilty plea in May 2019, admitting to paying $15,000 for a proctor to correct wrong answers on Sophia’s SATs.<\/p>\n

Huffman confirmed she routed payments through an admissions official named William Singer via his nonprofit Key Worldwide Foundation, which prosecutors said was set up as a front to accept payoffs.<\/p>\n

In her admission to the court, Huffman acknowledged that the scam required changing the location where Sophia was taking her test, as she used a neuropsychologist to write a note supporting the change.<\/p>\n

Huffman, who played Lynette Scavo on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, also received one year of probation, a fine of $30,000 and 250 hours of community service in connection with her plea deal.<\/a><\/p>\n

Huffman told The Guardian<\/a>\u00a0in 2024 that she felt like she was ‘still processing’ the bizarre turn of events as she sought to methodically rebuild her show business career<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She said that it’s ‘sort of like your old life died and you died with it,’ adding, ‘I’m lucky enough to have a family and love and means, so I had a place to land.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
