An opossum had snuck in overnight, ransacked the place, and was now resting comfortably on a folder in the corner.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1772704691_424_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"opossum curled up on folder \" width=\"792\" height=\"771\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 771\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Karenlynn Stracher <\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">In need of an expert, the staff members called local animal rescuer Karenlynn Stracher.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">Stracher was already busy with a different rescue, so she told them to hold tight, maintain a careful distance and keep the opossum safe until she could get there.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"2\">When she finally arrived, Stracher was pleased to find that the opossum was relaxed, seemingly unfazed by the gym\u2019s activities continuing around him.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"3\">\u201cHe slept peacefully with classes going on,\u201d Stracher told The Dodo.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">Stracher named the opossum Champ. She carefully picked him up in a blanket and carried him through the gym, much to the shock and awe of the boxers practicing inside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1772704691_48_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"woman holding opossum in a blanket \" width=\"792\" height=\"767\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 767\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Karenlynn Stracher <\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">\u201cThe entire class split in half, parting like the Red Sea, so he and I could walk through,\u201d Stracher said.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">Staff members snapped a few photos of Stracher with the opossum before the rescuer headed out to release him.
