Eamonn Holmes has celebrated his son Declan’s birthday with a sweet post dedicated to his eldest child on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Declan, who turned 37 this weekend, was Eamonn’s first child with ex-wife Gabriella. <\/p>\n

To celebrate the milestone, Eamonn shared a snap of his eldest son on Instagram, posing next to a board which listed all of his beloved Manchester United’s major honours.<\/p>\n

“Number One Son now has more scores on the Doors than our Football Team! Happy Birthday Decman,” (sic) Eamonn penned, followed by a series of beer emojis.<\/p>\n

Eamonn’s son showed his appreciation with an emoji-filled response, including love hearts and prayer symbols.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, several of Eamonn’s fans took to the post to share their own supportive and celebratory messages.<\/p>\n

“Happy birthday Decman xxx,” one fan commented, while a second added a series of love heart emojis.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, a third couldn’t believe the father-son similarities: “Happy birthday… he could easily stand in for you on breakfast Eamonn no one would know the difference.” (sic)<\/p>\n

The celebration of his eldest son’s milestone comes just days after Eamonn bravely opened up about his health and his struggles in today’s “ageist” society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old People’s Channel fan-favourite disclosed on the Session 7 podcast that he is unable to stand from a seated position without assistance.<\/p>\n

“I’m sick. I’m in a wheelchair. That’s been horrendous to deal with for two years,” Eamonn stated during the interview.<\/p>\n

The broadcaster explained that his daily routine now depends entirely on support staff.<\/p>\n

“I need help getting out of this chair. I have to have carers throughout the day but once I’m sitting down… I can do everything,” he said.<\/p>\n

Eamonn also accused society of being fundamentally “ageist” and criticised the inadequate provisions made for disabled people across various venues.<\/p>\n

Eamonn expressed particular frustration with cinema accessibility, despite his love for film.<\/p>\n

“When you go to the cinema and you’re disabled, you get two choices: you’re either at the very, very, very back and beyond of the cinema, or you’re right at the very front,” he explained.<\/p>\n

The presenter questioned why wheelchair users must accept such limited options.<\/p>\n

He extended his criticism to theatres and restaurants, suggesting these establishments routinely fail to accommodate people with mobility issues properly.<\/p>\n

Rail travel presents additional challenges, Eamonn noted, describing attempts to board trains whilst managing a wheelchair and luggage as “ghastly”.<\/p>\n
