Former Pakistan speedster Tanvir Ahmed wants critics to \u201cback off from hounding\u201d batsmen Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.<\/p>\n

Tanvir pointed out that the duo are consistently targeted, despite being Pakistan\u2019s most reliable run-scorers across all three formats for several years. He argued that their longstanding contributions to the team deserve more respect than constant criticism.<\/p>\n

Going a step further, Tanvir suggested that some people may have an agenda against the pair, claiming that they are very often made scapegoats whenever Pakistan falter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn agenda has been deliberately run against Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan; it\u2019s time to back off from hounding both players now,\u201d he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X<\/a>, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n

Azam was recently involved in the 2026 T20 World Cup, while Rizwan did not make the cut when the squad was announced.<\/p>\n

In six games, Azam has accumulated 91 runs at an average of 22.75 and a strike-rate of 112.34.<\/p>\n

Pakistan progressed to the Super Eights in the tournament, but were unable to book their spot in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Next up for them will be a tour of Bangladesh, which will consist of three ODIs that will be in Mirpur from March 11 to 15.<\/p>\n

Rizwan was included in the squad, but Azam was dropped.<\/p>\n
