A new film centered on the King Conan is reportedly moving ahead.\u00a0Speaking during an interview with TheArnoldFans.com at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that a filmmaker has been chosen to lead the project. <\/p>\n
According to the actor, Christopher McQuarrie has been brought on board to both write and direct the film. Schwarzenegger praised the filmmaker while discussing the development, noting McQuarrie\u2019s recent collaborations with Tom Cruise. \u201cThey just hired a fantastic writer and director who did Tom Cruise\u2019s last four movies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The actor also provided some insight into the direction the story could take. He said, \u201cWith King Conan of course it\u2019s a great story, old story of where Conan was 40 years came and he gets complacent and now he gets forced out of the kingdom slowly and then there\u2019s conflict of course and then he somehow comes back.\u201d <\/p>\n
Schwarzenegger added that the story could involve \u201call kinds of madness and violence and and magic and stuff like that that creatures.\u201d He also noted that modern visual effects and larger studio budgets could allow the filmmakers to bring the story to the screen on a much bigger scale.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The new King Conan project currently does not have a confirmed release date.
