{"id":468239,"date":"2026-03-10T18:49:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T18:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/468239\/"},"modified":"2026-03-10T18:49:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T18:49:07","slug":"derek-chisora-makes-his-feelings-clear-on-conor-benn-leaving-eddie-hearn-for-zuffa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/468239\/","title":{"rendered":"Derek Chisora makes his feelings clear on Conor Benn leaving Eddie Hearn for Zuffa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/derek-chisora\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Derek Chisora<\/a> has weighed in with his view on <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/boxer\/conor-benn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Conor Benn<\/a> leaving Eddie Hearn\u2019s Matchroom Boxing to join Dana White\u2019s Zuffa promotion.<\/p>\n<p>It came as a huge shock last month when it was announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/c1w539np378o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Benn had parted ways with long-term promoter Hearn<\/a> in order to join forces with the new upstart Zuffa company fronted by UFC chief White.<\/p>\n<p>Benn had spent his entire career with Matchroom up to that point, dating back to 2016, going through many highs and lows during that decade, including infamous failed drugs tests, and two epic fights with Chris Eubank Jr last year.<\/p>\n<p>He returns to action when he faces Regis Prograis in a 150-catchweight bout on the Tyson Fury vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov card on April 11, where he will receive a reported purse of 15 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>It is because of that figure why heavyweight contender Chisora has no issues with Benn leaving Hearn, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@playbookboxing\/video\/7614938647359474976?_r=1&amp;_t=ZN-94WipDF6gdS\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">telling Playbook Boxing<\/a> that his countryman has done the right thing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe both know the saying, if you want loyal, you buy a what? A dog. I\u2019m not loyal. Nobody\u2019s loyal when somebody comes and say \u2018you know what? I\u2019m gonna give you this much money. Come with me.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s not try and make it like what this young man did was so bad. He did good business. If he turned it down, you guys will be like \u2018oh, you\u2019re a fool. Why you turn it down for?
