The Irish actors gave different responses to a question about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/007\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">007<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What did Cillian Murphy &amp; Barry Keoghan say about the new James Bond movie?<\/p>\n<p>While speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/hTr-MV4curs?si=FogS7MbXH8itCQfm&amp;t=414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Extra TV<\/a>, Murphy and Keoghan were asked if they wanted to be in the new Bond movie. Murphy and Keoghan are familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/james-bond-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">James Bond 26<\/a>\u2018s screenwriter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/Steven-Knight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Steven Knight<\/a>, who penned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/peaky-blinders-the-immortal-man\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he would rather play 007 or the villain, Keoghan opted for the latter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019d play Bond. It\u2019s such a role that requires, you know, certain things,\u201d Keogan said. \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019d play James Bond himself, but I\u2019d like to come in and do the villain. Just saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a headline right there,\u201d Murphy said before laughing with Keoghan. <\/p>\n<p>When asked if he would be in the next Bond movie, Murphy said, \u201cI\u2019m kind of busy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>James Bond 26 is currently in development. It marks the first Bond movie under Amazon MGM Studios\u2019 creative control. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/Denis-Villeneuve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Denis Villeneuve<\/a> will direct from a screenplay by Knight. Producers include Amy Pascal and David Heyman.<\/p>\n<p>Casting for the next actor to play Bond is underway. Rumored candidates include Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, and Callum Turner. Bond 26\u2019s filming start date will likely be toward the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. If that holds, expect a 2028 release date.<\/p>\n<p>As for Murphy and Keoghan, the pair is promoting their latest endeavor, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The movie is a continuation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/peaky-blinders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Peaky Blinders<\/a>, the long-running show created by Knight. In the movie, Murphy reprises his role as Thomas Shelby, the famous gangster who led the Birmingham-based gang, the Peaky Blinders. Keoghan plays Erasmus \u201cDuke\u201d Shelby, Thomas\u2019 illegitimate son. <\/p>\n<p>Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is now playing in select cinemas. It will then premiere on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/netflix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Netflix<\/a> on March 20, 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Would Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan join the James Bond franchise?
