West Ham United are underdogs against Manchester City and Chris Sutton thinks beating Pep Guardiola\u2019s side is frankly an impossible task.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sutton<\/a> has not\u00a0been confident about West Ham United<\/a> in recent weeks, despite their\u00a0revival in the Premier League<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Indeed, West Ham fans do have reason to think they can beat Man City<\/a>. Guardiola\u2019s team are no longer the force they were, and the Irons are flying high right now.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three at the back? Another start for Kante and Pablo?<\/p>\n

Still, the pundit just doesn\u2019t think it\u2019s enough to overcome the former Premier League champions. <\/p>\n

Sutton doesn\u2019t rate West Ham\u2019s home form<\/p>\n

Sutton, who predicted a 2-1 win for City, wrote in his BBC Sport<\/a> column: \u201cManchester City\u00a0have not lost to\u00a0West Ham\u00a0in the league since\u00a02015\u00a0but this will be a test for them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Hammers are desperate for points, while City melted in Madrid in midweek. From 3-0 down, I can\u2019t see them turning that tie around on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a big few weeks for Pep Guardiola\u2019s side, who have got Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals and are clinging on in Europe. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt the moment the Quadruple is still on for City but at the moment you\u2019d say they are far more likely to end up with a trophyless season than they are to win all four. <\/p>\n

\u201cWest Ham surprised me by beating Fulham in their last league game but I am still not convinced by them at home. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be tricky for City but I think they will edge it. Everyone else seems to have lost faith in Erling Haaland, but not me. He will score, and City will win.\u201d <\/p>\n

While Sutton admits that Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s side surprised him by beating Fulham last week, he remains unconvinced about them playing at home. <\/p>\n

Sutton believes West Ham fans make playing at the London Stadium difficult<\/a>, because of their dislike of the ground.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a certain logic to that, but Nuno\u2019s side have been reasonably good at home recently. <\/p>\n

Clearly, that doesn\u2019t mean supporters will warm to the stadium, just that the Irons are starting to make it something of a fortress \u2013 in the context of this season\u2019s relegation battle at least. <\/p>\n

The Hammers are unbeaten in their last four home games across all competitions, winning twice and drawing the other two. <\/p>\n

West Ham have a dreadful record against City in the Premier League<\/a>, having last beaten them in 2015.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Erling Haaland \u2013 despite his excellent record against West Ham \u2013 is struggling right now and, at some point, the tide has to turn. <\/p>\n

After 20 games without a win against the Manchester giants, this is the longest winless run the club have ever had against an opponent. <\/p>\n

Nothing, as they say, can last forever\u2026 <\/p>\n
