Their goal is to inspire everyone to integrate more reading into their daily routines. They reported that their\u00a0 audiobook collection has skyrocketed from 150,000 titles at launch to over 700,000 in just two years, marking a remarkable growth of more than four times.<\/p>\n<p>As an official partner of the UK\u2019s National Year of Reading, Spotify is committed to making books accessible to more people and cultivating lasting reading habits. In today\u2019s fast-paced world, we understand that busy lives can make it challenging to carve out time for reading. Their\u00a0 mission is to simplify the discovery of books, allowing readers to seamlessly enjoy them during their day-to-day activities.<\/p>\n<p>During his keynote titled \u201cReading Reimagined,\u201d Duncan Bruce, our Director of Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing, shared, \u201cWe believe every session on Spotify should feel worthwhile, and books are the epitome of this idea of time well spent. Our aim is to get books in as many people\u2019s ears as possible, which can only happen by broadening access and ensuring availability to a wider audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The interest in audiobooks is on the rise, especially among younger audiences. In the UK, over half (52%) of audiobook listeners are under 35, illustrating Spotify\u2019s success in reaching a new demographic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople don\u2019t read in one fixed way anymore,\u201d said Niamh Parsley, Head of Product &amp; Design, Audiobooks, during the \u201cGrowing Readers in a Noisy World\u201d panel. \u201cThey might read a physical book at home and listen on their commute. We need to continue to invest in the people we\u2019re all serving and meet them where they are.
