Paris Fury, the wife of heavyweight boxing champ Tyson, has admitted she’s nowhere near ready to become a granny, but couldn’t be happier that her eldest child, Venezuela is set to tie the knot.

To her parents’ shock, influencer and budding model Venezuela got engaged last September, with her boyfriend of a year, Noah, getting down on one knee to propose during her glitzy 16th birthday party – and the couple are now busy planning for their big day in May.

In an exclusive shoot with the mother-daughter duo for Notebook in this weekend’s Sunday Mirror, Paris says it may have come sooner than expected, but she’s very happy for them – just don’t ask whether she’s ready to become a grandmother before 40.

The eternally busy 36-year-old, who shares seven children with Tyson, says, “I didn’t feel old enough for this, but she is over-the-moon happy. The two of them are in their own little bubble. And look, I got married myself, at 18.”

As for the prospect of her daughter starting her own family, Paris says she thinks it’s far too soon to be talking babies, “Venezuela’s only young herself. They want to do some travelling, make their own life together first, so there’s no rush. I don’t think I’ll be mentally prepared for that, even in a few years’ time. We’ll see!”

Speaking last November as a guest on the podcast Extraordinary Life Stories, Paris said the conversation about becoming ‘grandparents’ had most definitely been had at home.

She said at the time, “Hopefully it will be a few years from now. But oh my goodness, I can’t even imagine being a granny! It will be a great moment in family life, but it will be a bit scary. But it will be quite nice to look fresh and be a glam-ma!”

The family recently moved to the Isle of Man and Paris concedes that it will be tough for her when Venezuela flies the nest to move into the new home she’s bought with Noah after they tie the knot.

She says, “I’ll feel like I’ve lost my arm. It’s going to hit me hard. Right now Tyson’s in training camp in Thailand, the kids are in school, and Venezuela and I… basically co‑parent!

“But I do let her have her space. The weekends are her time. I know she’ll be fine, getting on with an exciting new life. It’s me I’m worried about.”

Meanwhile, the pair are in the thick of some exciting wedding planning. Venezuela has started looking at dresses and venues, and has some of what her mum calls “quirky ideas”, involving acid pink-and-yellow bouquets.

Says Venezuela, “We’re thinking it’ll be quite small, but to anyone else it’ll be like the biggest wedding in the world, because we’re all very OTT!”

Paris, who with her family is also filming the next series of their Netflix fly-on-the-wall hit, At Home With the Furys, says the bride-to-be who she once famously called a “privileged little brat” has matured considerably in the last few years.

She says, “When we shot the first series of At Home With the Furys she was 13 – mature for her age, but still a tormented teenager. But she turned 15 and blossomed. She’ll chat, she’s friendly, less argumentative. So parents – they do come out the other side!”

Paris and Tyson were childhood sweethearts, having met at a wedding when she was 15 and he was 17, later dating after reconnecting at her 16th birthday party.

The pair married in 2008, when Paris was 18, and had their first child, Venezuela, when she was 19. The couple have renewed their vows twice – once in a private renewal in New York in 2013, and last August in a ceremony in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France with their brood all in attendance.
