Soap star Reece Dinsdale has confirmed he\u2019s returning to Emmerdale<\/a> \u2013 but not as the character he previously played.<\/p>\n The actor, who is 66, played the role of Paul Ashdale in the show, who is Vinny Dingle<\/a>\u2019s (Bradley Johnson<\/a>) biological father.<\/p>\n Reece is also known for his role as Joe McIntyre in Coronation Street, one of Gail Platt\u2019s (Helen Worth) many husbands.<\/p>\n His Emmerdale character Paul died in 2021<\/a>, when Jimmy King<\/a> (Nick Miles<\/a>) drove into a barn, which exploded while Paul was inside.<\/p>\n Prior to this happening, Vinny\u2019s partner Liv Flaherty<\/a> (Isobel Steele<\/a>) was confronting Paul about the abuse he had inflicted on his son.<\/p>\n In Coronation Street, Reece\u2019s character Joe was killed off in 2010. He attempted to fake his own death so he could claim on his life insurance, but his plan went horribly wrong and he died.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t Alongside his acting career, Reece works as a director and has shot a number of Coronation Street and Emmerdale episodes.<\/p>\n Recently, the star confirmed on his X profile page that it won\u2019t be long until we see more of his Emmerdale work.<\/p>\n Feeling proud of what he\u2019s just created, Reece wrote: \u2018Just showed my Producer the four episodes of #Emmerdale that I recently shot\u2026 and, it appears, I\u2019m still on the payroll!\u2019.<\/p>\n Reece\u2019s followers were thrilled to hear the news.<\/p>\n Maggie wrote: \u2018That\u2019s great news Reece and well deserved,you put 100% and more in everything you do.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop!
