Irish rugby legend Peter O’Mahony issued an apology live on air after turning the air blue in the aftermath of Ireland’s Six Nations<\/a> win over Scotland on Saturday.<\/p>\n Andy Farrell’s side sealed the Triple Crown with a ruthless performance in Dublin, as they ran in six tries on their way to a 43-21 victory at the Aviva Stadium. The win also kept Ireland’s hopes of a Six Nations title alive for a matter of hours, before France snatched a last-gasp win over England in a dramatic tournament finale in Paris.<\/p>\n After the full-time whistle, there was plenty to discuss, with O’Mahony giving his take on the action as part of Virgin Media’s punditry team.<\/p>\n JOIN OUR WALES RUGBY FACEBOOK PAGE Latest news, analysis and much more<\/a><\/p>\n The Ireland and British & Irish Lions legend hung up his boots at the end of last season and has since moved into punditry, proving a popular addition to the Virgin Media line-up during the Six Nations.<\/p>\n But, of course, he is still relatively new to the perils of live television and an X-rated slip during a post-match discussion led him to quickly apologise to viewers.<\/p>\n Speaking after the game, Irish forward Josh van der Flier said that his team had aimed to bring the type of intensity that O’Mahony was famed for during his career to the clash with Scotland.<\/p>\n That led presenter Joe Molloy and former Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray to question whether they did so, with O’Mahony leaving his fellow pundits chuckling as a swear word slipped out.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n “Did anyone manage to match the raw aggression of Peter O’Mahony today?” asked Molloy. “I don’t think so personally.”<\/p>\n Murray replied: “Josh is too nice.
