Two schools in Cardiff will remain closed on Monday after “a report was made to the police”. South Wales Police has implemented the measures at Llanishen High School<\/a> and Eastern High School as “a safety precaution.”<\/p>\n The force said it has not taken the decision “lightly” and added that it did so in conjunction with the city’s council ensure the safety of pupils.<\/p>\n The nature of the report, which it has not been disclosed, remains under investigation according to police. Never miss a Cardiff story by signing up to our daily newsletter here<\/a>.<\/p>\n A statement from South Wales Police read: “Two Cardiff schools will remain closed on Monday (March 16) following a report made to South Wales Police<\/a> on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n “Llanishen High School<\/a> and Eastern High School will close as a safety precaution whilst investigations are undertaken, following discussion between the police and Cardiff<\/a> Council.”<\/p>\n Superintendent Mark Kavanagh added: “We have come to the decision, with support from Cardiff Council<\/a>, to keep these schools closed on Monday in order to avoid risk, following a report which was made to police on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n “This report is currently under investigation.<\/p>\n “This decision was not taken lightly but was made with the safety of pupils, staff and the wider school communities in mind.”<\/p>\n
